No. 412 "Old Gerald" | Black Limba, Cherry & Ambrosia Maple Cutting Board, 10x15, 2" Thick
Black limba, cherry, and ambrosia maple. 10 by 15 inches and a full 2 inches thick. This is the heavy one. It has real weight in the hand and it is not going anywhere on the counter.
The ambrosia maple is the pale wood with the grey and brown streaks running through it. That is not damage and it is not stain, it is the wood, and no two boards of it look alike. Black limba brings the darker figure, cherry the warmth.
Edge grain. Milled, glued, flattened, shaped and sanded by hand in East Tennessee, then finished with food safe mineral oil and beeswax. Both food safe. Neither one is a snack.
Care
Treat it like cast iron, not like a dish. Hand wash warm, towel dry, stand it on edge to dry the rest of the way. No dishwasher. No soaking. Oil it when it looks thirsty, about once a month.

Part of the Severe County Collection. Made one at a time. The grain runs different every board, so yours will not look exactly like this one.
Keep it fed. A 4 oz tin of board butter, the same mineral oil and beeswax I finish every board with, is here.
