No. 402, "Dutch Radhaus" | Walnut and Hard Maple Cutting Board, 18x12

Walnut with two wide stripes of hard maple. 18 by 12 inches and 1 1/4 inches thick.

No juice groove on this one. Flat face all the way across, edges eased so it does not bite your hand when you pick it up. This is the board that lives on the counter and gets used, not the one that comes out for company.

The color is natural. No stain, no dye. The dark is walnut, the light is maple, exactly as the trees grew it. Every board is cut from a different stack, so the figure is never the same twice.

Four rubber feet on the bottom, 3/4 inch. They lift the board off the counter so air gets underneath and keep it from wandering while you work.

Edge grain. Milled, glued, flattened, shaped and sanded by hand in East Tennessee, then finished with food safe mineral oil and beeswax. Both food safe. Neither one is a snack.

Care

Treat it like cast iron, not like a dish. Hand wash warm, towel dry, stand it on edge to dry the rest of the way. No dishwasher. No soaking. Oil it when it looks thirsty, about once a month, which is roughly as often as you will remember to.
